Hmong District Youth Pastors, Living The Call Together!!!
We are geographically so far apart, it's hard to come together and update you all on the many youth ministry programs and events that are planned by the National Youth Office, the Youth Ministry events of the Hmong District, or just get together for prayer and encouragement. But my prayer is that you will continue to serve God faithfully. If I can be of any help to any of you, please don't hesitate to let me know. No, I am not the Youth Director for the Hmong District, but for the duration I am the "stand-in youth point person." Hmong District send me to all of the National Alliance Youth meetings for our district. And since last year, I also have the privilege of sitting in as a member on Jason Ostrander's brainstorming team and attended "Engage'08" for district's point persons. Jason is working very hard to connect with us in the Hmong District. Here are a few things that I would like to share with all the youth pastors and workers of our district (and anyone esle that works with young people in the local church).
1. Do to our distance, I would like to encourage all of you to connect with the "point
person" of the geographical district in your neck of the wood to build relationship
and connect with Alliance youth ministry. If you don't know who, please contact
me. This seems to be the easiest way of knowing "what's up" in Alliance youth
ministry.
2. Encourage your college age/young adults to be involve in short term missions,
be it here in North America or overseas. The "ENVISION: Taipei'10" is at the end
of this year from December 27 to January 4, 2010. I will lead our group for Hmong
District. Please encourage your young adults to get involve with the Alliance
Youth Envision program. More info at www.alliance-youth.com or Matt Peace,
director of www.AYMission.org.
3. Lastly, if you are a licensed youth pastor of the Hmong District (or pastors or just a
volunteer youth worker in your church that love serving and ministering to the young
people), please email your information to me at hmong4christ@yahoo.com. I am
putting a file of youth ministry leaders from our district for Jason Ostrander, so you
all can get direct email information from his office.
